2007 Teams Form a Team Team jersey

Team Riders
Why Should You Form a Team?
  1. It is more fun to ride with friends and colleagues - people bond on bikes!
  2. Teammates will motivate each other to train over the summer to be ready for the ride. The team will set a positive, healthy example for friends and co-workers.
  3. If it's a company team, fellow employees will rally around the team's fundraising efforts, especially if the team rides in the name of a current or former employee.
  4. Your company may support your fundraising efforts with a financial grant.
  5. If your company has a matching gift program, all the donations from co-workers will be matched, significantly increasing the impact of your fundraising efforts.
  6. Your team may bring home the Bulldog Trophy as the Team Challenge Champion.
How It Works
  • Each team selects a team captain who will create the team. The team can be created when the captain registers or at any later time on the captain's personal web page. Team members should each register individually as a part of their team. Team members do not have to ride the same distance.
  • All money raised by team members is credited to their personal accounts and, automatically, to the overall team account.
  • All money donated to the team account by September 26, 2008, including company grants and corporate matching gifts will be credited towards the team fundraising total.
  • The Team Challenge fundraising competition ends on September 26, 2008. The winning teams will be announced shortly afterwards.
The Bulldog Trophy
Bulldog Trophy
  • Awarded to the team that raises the most money

The winning team will have its team name engraved on the Bulldog Trophy, which will remain in their possession for the next 12 months. The winning team will also be featured on the Connecticut Challenge website.

Costs

Team Riders There are no added costs to enter a team in the Team Challenge. Registration fees for the team must match the distances each member of the team elects to ride. The team must also commit to raising an average of $750 per rider in donations for the ride ($375 for students).

All Team Challenge teams can receive the following:

  • Team name and photograph on the Connecticut Challenge website. Captains may submit the photo at any time.
  • Teams stating a fundraising goal greater than $5,000 will be invited to submit a team photo for the Event Yearbook, distributed on the day of the event. Click here to view the 2007 Event Yearbook.
  • The opportunity to design and purchase their own team cycling jersey from a specially-selected Connecticut Challenge supplier.
How To Register

Team Riders Select a team captain to register your team online. Each member of your team should register individually. Individual riders can join a team at any time.
