It seems we all have a way of adding stress, fear and anxiety to our lives. So, when I read this phrase, I smiled and thought, "How brilliant!"
Let's take some of the ways you might trip yourself up and turn them around to jump start your happy thoughts. Yes, happy thoughts can occur anytime, anywhere, and in any particular situation in your life, even during cancer treatment. And, happy thoughts lead to happy feelings, which are nourishment for your soul, especially in challenging times.
Flip it! A bad attitude, that is.
You stubbed your toe in the bathroom, spilled your coffee and have no gas in your car, yikes! You might feel a bad attitude coming on...so flip it. Laughing at yourself for these mundane life annoyances is a great way to flip a bad countenance and lighten up the day. Want to super charge the flip flop? Take a brisk walk around the gas station while your car is gassing up, smile at the convenience store clerk and buy the next person in line their coffee. Poof! What bad attitude?
The highway isn't backed up to make your day miserable, your boss didn't get sick today to ruin your half day vacation and your husband certainly wasn't 2 hours late for dinner so you could fume all night. These things happen; start believing people and events are conspiring in your favor. Becoming "pro-noid" can help you start to feel much better and able to bounce back when inevitable situations arise. Want to broaden this bounce back? Search for a private dance class, swim lesson or gym session with a professional. Their focus will be solely on your progress, your satisfaction and your improvements. All good!
Seek Positivity Peeps
Hanging with folks that are negative can cause you to spiral into their world. Find ways to surround yourself with the most positive people you can, those the most grounded in happy thoughts and optimism. You know who they are, tap into their good vibrations and you'll start to drive yourself happy with enthusiasm for life. Want to pop the positivity even more? Grab your positive peeps and join a boot camp, or take horseback riding lessons. You'll laugh a lot and who knows, you might even get physically stronger too!
