Our next support/discussion group meeting at Norwalk Community College will be Thursday, May 13th at 6:00 PM and our speaker will be Samantha Heller, MS, RD, CDN. Originally this meeting was scheduled for February 25th but we had to cancel due to snow and ice -
Samantha is a well known and well respected nutritionist who first spoke at our meetings two years ago and her talk was greeted with great enthusiasm. She provided us with important information including the need for increasing the daily requirement of Vitamin D. We hope you can join us for her talk.
Samantha Heller to Speak for Breast Cancer Survival Center
Do you want: Smarter kids? To lose weight without dieting? To perform better at work? Whether you have “chemo brain” after breast cancer treatment or not, mark your calendar. Samantha Heller, MS, RD, CDN, is the author of “Get Smart: Samantha Heller’s Nutrition Prescription for Boosting Brain Power and Optimizing Total Body Health. The book has just been published by The Johns Hopkins University Press. She is a nationally recognized clinical nutritionist, registered dietician and exercise physiologist. Her talk will include tips from her book for improving mental focus, mood, and mental clarity.
Samantha, who is a Fairfield resident, was a senior clinical nutritionist and exercise physiologist at NYU Medical Center in New York City for almost a decade. She holds a dual Master of Science degree in nutrition and applied physiology from Teachers’ College, Columbia University. Currently, she is a contributing editor to “HEALTH” magazine and is the nutrition coordinator at the Fairfield YMCA. She is also a favored expert on nutrition, health, and medical nutrition therapy for national news networks and programs such as CNN, Good Morning America, and The Today Show.
Samantha’s presentation will be at Norwalk Community College, The West Campus, 188 Richards Ave., the Fairfield County Women’s Center, Room 116 Norwalk. The event is free, but seating is limited. To reserve your place, respond to this email or us at 203-857-7304. A light supper will also be served
